Port Tampa Bay CSX Intermodal Ethanol Rail Terminal
- This project was the nation’s first ethanol unit-train-to-refined-productions pipeline and Florida’s first on-dock unit-train intermodal container facility.
- Scope of work includes 13,000 linear feet of rail infrastructure for a multi-purpose rail terminal.
- The facility was designed to handle ethanol unit trains up to 96 cars in length and is utilized to transport ethanol via an environmentally friendly and cost-effective unit-train-to-pipeline distribution system.
- Represents Phase 4B of Port Tampa Bay’s multi-phased, $75-million, 140-acre container terminal improvements and expansion project.
- This project was a collaboration between Port Tampa Bay, Transflo (a subsidiary of CSX Corporation), and Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, LP.
