Baptist East 4th Floor NICU Build-Out
- A 16,747-square-foot interior NICU buildout features 30 new beds, including 3 individual pods and 18 private rooms, 6 of which are equipped for “rooming-in,” allowing parents to stay overnight with their newborns and be fully engaged in their care.
- This project was constructed over the existing 3rd-floor Post-Partum bed wing, located in Baptist East’s newest vertical expansion, which was also constructed by Batson-Cook.
- Ancillary support spaces include a waiting room and public restrooms, staff planning room and lounge, nurse manager office, staff locker space, nurse administration station, chart workroom and physician dictation, medication preparation, nourishment rooms, infant feeding prep room, patient charting alcoves, a patient and family day room, library, and craft room.
- Mechanical, electrical, and IT rooms were added to support the patient floor, as well as required life safety, medical gas, and egress components.
